The National Emergent Red Meat Producers’ Organisation (NERPO), founded in 1997 and registered as a Section 21 company in 1999, was created to address disparities between the established and emerging agricultural sectors. Its strategic objectives include lobbying and advocacy, access to information, finance, and technical support. NERPO’s primary goal is to commercialize the developing agricultural sector and ensure the meaningful participation of Black individuals in mainstream agribusiness, contributing to the long-term sustainability of South Africa’s agricultural industry.
OBJECTIVES OF NERPO
1. Lobbying and Advocacy
We advocate for policies and initiatives that promote the interests of emerging farmers and facilitate their integration into the commercial agricultural sector.
2. Access to Information
Providing emerging farmers with the latest information on market trends, farming practices, and government regulations, ensuring they make informed decisions for their businesses.
3. Access to Finance
We work to unlock access to financial resources that are essential for farm growth and sustainability.
4. Access to Technical Support
Through our network of experts and partners, we offer technical advice and assistance to ensure farmers can implement cutting-edge practices for improved productivity and profitability.
